Dating tips for men: Top ten Places to Meet Single Women
Alcohol-fuelled environments are not the be-all and end-all of places to meet quality single women. In fact, the bar/club scene doesn’t even come close. Here are the top ten non-threatening places to meet single women.
1. Mixed Team Sports
This is by far the most underrated environment for any single chap to use. There’s something about sport that instantly brings people closer together. Perhaps it’s got to do with the idea that a team needs to band together in order to come away with a win. So why not capitalise on this “mateship” mentality? It’s the mentality that allows groups of overgrown men to slap each other on the bum at every opportunity. So join a mixed team. Who knows? You might even get slapped a few times yourself.
2. Dance Classes
Before you move down the list, here me out. This is an untapped resource. I’m not saying you need to be Michael Jackson. In fact, the worse you are, the more endearing you’ll come across. Dance classes are a great way to initiate physical contact with the opposite sex without running the risk of getting rejected or slapped in a club. And you know what they say about a man who can dance…
3. Yoga/Pilates
Similar deal. What better way to start the day than by watching a collection of fit, finely tuned woman stretch in ways never thought possible? The workout will leave you feeling trim, taut and terrific. And more importantly, it’ll also provide endless opportunities to arrange dates while the competition are still tucked away in bed.
4. Interior Design Classes
It goes without saying that the interior design industry is a sector completely and utterly dominated by woman. So you know the ratio is good from the get-go. Attending class with a friend/roommate works for you in two ways: The first being that it shows you’re not a slob and do in-fact promote a classy lifestyle.
Second, it’s the perfect platform for initiate the old “you should come back to my place so I can show you the changes I made”. But you didn’t hear that from me!
5. Parks
The whole “bring a puppy to a dog park to pick up” is an idea that has been done to death. That’s not to say it doesn’t work, but here’s a twist that will place you above the litter: If you don’t have a dog, volunteer at a dog pound. Strike a deal with the manager to allow you take some of the dogs out for a walk once a week. Find a way to work that story in a conversation and you’ll have women chasing your tail in no time.
6. Supermarkets
What’s that rule about bananas? If they’re visible in the shopping trolley it means your single. I suppose it’s worth a shot. Then again, it’s not too hard to tell if a woman’s single anyway. Aim for those carrying baskets and stay clear from trolley pushers.
7. Shopping Centres
It’s been said that a woman loves to catch a man she can change. We all know women love to shop, so why not play the “clueless shopper” card and see where it takes you. Just be sure to stay clear of the lingerie section. Women know you’re not shopping for Mum.
8. The Beach
Sand, sea, skin. Need I say more?
9. Cafes
It’s a relatively non-threatening environment. If you’re alone (and up to it), talk to a stranger while you’re waiting for coffee. Commenting on the weather is every man’s go-to line. So mix it up. Have a newspaper in hand. Ask if they’ve heard about the interesting story you just read.
10. Singles Events
I know I said the bar/club scene isn’t always the best way to meet new woman. But singles events are a little different. At least you know the women are there for the same reasons as you. It’ll save you the trouble of reading the “get lost” stamp on their forehead – it’s a stamp that many women wear oh so well at the bars on a Friday night.
